Fees and funding

We perfectly understand that studying at university is a lifetime call to be made. Therefore, we can assist you to find the right way towards funding your studies. Fees are made up of your tuition fees and application fees. Depending on a scholarship you may be entitled to, the total cost of your annual fees may vary each year. ‘Financial transparency’ is where Khazar University comfortably resides, thus, our fee’s structure is very simple and has no hidden costs.

Khazar Scholarship

Khazar provides a good number of merit-based scholarships under the University’s name. You do not need to apply for this scholarship – if eligible, Khazar University will notify you in the Offer of Admission. If offered, the scholarship will be reviewed on the annual basis by an appointed academic panel at Khazar University and may be extended for the next year of study, provided that your academic performance is considered up to its level.

Nailekhanim Scholarship

Annually, the Nailekhanim Foundation (Azerbaijan) offers a high-profile competition- based one full scholarship for a gifted female student, regardless of national background and citizenship, who 1) is determined to pursue her studies towards a post-graduate academic degree (either Master or Doctoral) at and 2) submitted her general application to Khazar University by no later than 15 June of a given year.

The Nailakhanim Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation that was established in memory of Mrs. Nailekhanim Isayeva, co-founder of Dünya School and Khazar University. Nailekhanim was a renowned educator whose vision and energy shaped the development of both institutions. The Foundation is set up to commemorate her passion and commitment to education.

 

Terms and conditions for eligibility:

  • Female applicant.
  • Outstanding academic record.
  • Strong commitment to the chosen academic field.
  • Passion for higher education and high-level academic research.
  • Submission no later than by 27 June of a given year to [email protected] (please put “Nailekhanim Foundation’ Scholarship Application” in the subject line of your e-mail).

 

Selection process:

The appointed Nailekhanim Scholarship Selection Committee is responsible for the selection of the Scholarship-holder.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Write a strong motivational essay* on the following topic: ‘Describe a situation or situations where you demonstrated or witnessed female leadership and how it made a positive difference’.
  • Possess the appropriate level of fluency in the English language to be able to conduct academic research.
  • Demonstrate a proof of high-level academic merit, with a minimum A-, 90-92, or 3.7 (out of 4) of grade point average (GPA), or equivalent, depending on the grading scheme of the applicant’s previous university.

The Scholarship-associated benefits

The appointed Nailekhanim Scholarship Selection Committee is responsible for the selection of the Scholarship-holder.

 

The Nailekhanim Foundation Scholarship covers the following items for one year:

  • Tuition and application fees
  • Dormitory fees
  • Monthly stipend
  • One single economy class round-trip transportation cost to and from Azerbaijan

Other scholarships

‘The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation’ and ‘The Educational Grant Programme for the Citizens of the Member Countries of the Non-Aligned Movement’ were approved by the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 6 December 2017 and on 10 January 2018, respectively. The Educational Grant (hereafter ‘scholarship’) Programmes provide an opportunity for selected candidates on annual basis to study in the leading universities of Azerbaijan at the preparatory courses, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, general medicine/residency programmes.

 

Provisions covered by the Scholarship:

  • Tuition fee
  • International flight
  • Monthly stipend for meals, accommodation, and utilities costs (800 AZN)
  • Medical insurance
  • Visa and registration costs

 

Submission of application:

Applications for the ‘Scholarship Programme for Citizens of the OIC and the NAM member Countries’ are accepted via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs AIDA web-portal.

Loans

From 2016, the ‘Maarifçi’ Student Loan Fund is working to serve Azerbaijani students. It was founded on the Ministry of Education’s initiative to create equal higher education opportunities for students from low-income families who experience problems with paying their tuition fees, through granting long-term low-interest loans to them.

Fees and charging

If no scholarship is offered, your annual tuition fee for all academic programmes across all levels of study will be USD 5,000.00. The tuition fee does not include accommodation or living expenses. Khazar University reserves the right to change the tuition fee from year to year. In addition, our ‘Early bird’ non-refundable admission application fee is USD 25.00 (if your application is submitted before 18:00 (6:00 PM) Baku time on 15 May of a given year. If your submission documents arrive to us later, but before 18:00 (6:00 PM) Baku time on 15 June, then your non-refundable admission application fee will be USD 40.00.
