About us

The operation of the School of Science and Engineering began in 1991. Almost the same time as the establishment of Khazar University.

Since then, the school has prepared specialists in various engineering fields. Having the emphasis on quality teaching, research, seminars, international conferences, and collaborations with various universities of Europe, North America, and Asia it has gained influence and reputation both in Azerbaijan and abroad. The medium of instruction for all programs at the School of Science and Engineering is in the English language and in accordance with existing international standards. Currently, the school offers undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs in various fields of engineering.

The professional academic staff of the school uses their analytical skills, creativity and scientific research to guide future engineers in their career development to a higher standard with emphasis on close-knit collaboration with the existing industries in Azerbaijan.

Mission

The transition period in Azerbaijan being characterized by the restructuring of the economy and new market-oriented control methods and reforms, the main mission of the School of Science and Engineering is to provide quality higher education with an emphasis on research, innovation, high-quality training programs, new reforms, and achieving new skills for sustainable development of the country.

The school helps students in achieving a combination of science, technology and management skills. It carries out the mission of preparing them as a professional staff to meet the interests and needs of the industry and the new market economy. The school curriculum is a dynamic one which corresponds to the students in terms of time, place and structure.

Rationale and objectives

The current transition in Azerbaijan is characterized by active reconstruction in the economy and new market-oriented control methods.

New reforms demand various changes, which create the necessity of mastering new skills. This, in turn, requires high-quality professional training. The School of Sciences and Engineering recognizes that skills must be continually upgraded to meet modern challenges.

The main objectives of the school are to:

  • Achieve a combination of science, technology and management skills
  • Serve the interests and needs of students, industry and new market economy requirements.

 The school provides methods of training that are flexible in terms of their format, time and location.
