Center for Cell Pathology Research (CCPR)

Center for Cell Pathology Research (CCPR) is one of the structural units created by order of the Khazar University President. It functions in accordance with university regulations and internal rules.

The main objectives of CCPR are closely associated with educational and research activities of the University to establish and develop mutually beneficial relationships with students, encourage and support them in participation in research activities, give a maximum number of practical laboratory classes, and support them in doing different research projects.

Center for Cell Pathology Research (CCPR) is located on the first floor of the Neftchilar campus of Khazar University.

The CCPR lab is equipped with modern equipment and more than 20 devices.

Some of the main laboratory equipment and instrumentation

Thermo Scientific Varioskan Flash Spectral Scanning Multimode Reader

Thermo Scientific Varioskan Flash spectral scanning multimode reader purchased from the American Thermo Scientific Company. It has an advanced SkanIt Software program so any protocol can be written for speeding up assay development. This reader is designed for the optimization and analysis of about 20 various assays, such as apoptosis assays, cell proliferation, migration, cytotoxicity, DNA, RNA, and protein quantification, ELISA/FIA/TRF-ELISA assays, enzyme kinetic studies, ion channel assays and etc. This gives ultimate flexibility for identifying the optimal measurement wavelength for any assay in 6 to 1536 wells, including 96 well ELISA plates.

Thermo Scientific Spectrophotometer 10S (Genesys UV Vis Scanning)

This spectrophotometer is designed specifically for researchers in the fields of molecular biology, biochemistry, and other life science disciplines. The spectral wavelength range is 190 – 1100 nm (with up to 3600 nm/min scan speed). It has featured USB connections which allow it to connect to a computer for software control, data analysis, and storage.

Transilluminator System (20x20sm filter, 302 nm UV) PhotoDoc-It™ Imaging

The PhotoDoc-It is designed to fit over any UVP Benchtop UV Transilluminator and combines the high-resolution digital camera (14.1 MP) that replaces Polaroid cameras, and it has a 16 MB memory card. The PhotoDoc-It Imaging System is a simple, stand-alone gel documentation system with no computer required. This benchtop UV Transilluminator uses the luminescence or ultraviolet detection system of stained gels for the identification of protein, enzyme and etc. fractions.

Vertical Electrophoresis and Western Blot system

Vertical Electrophoresis Systems and its power supply is ideal device for the separation and identification of the proteins, enzymes and small DNA fragments in the gel. It has Western Blot accessories for the specific identifications.

Boekel Digital Incubator-Thermostat (LCD-light)

Boekel Digital Incubator is the temperature control thermostat. This thermostat is ideal for the incubation reactions of microplates, Petri dishes, and glass tubes. It is a portable device and can be placed in a fume hood.
