The Department nurtures strong relationships with major global and local oil companies [SOCAR, Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), BP, Schlumberger, Bos Shelf, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Bahar Energy, SOCAR-AQS, etc..] operating in Baku, professionally engaging staff and students.
In cultivating these partnerships, the Department leads the university in industry relations, securing BP and SOCAR scholarships for outstanding students. Beyond financial support, students are also eligible for BP, SOCAR, Halliburton, Bos Shelf, Bahar Energy internships and future employment opportunities. Department faculty, students, and others within the School of Engineering and Applied Science are members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). These professional organizations invite scientists, engineers, visiting professors and specialists from preeminent universities and oil companies. These events, promote academic excellence, disseminate the latest developments, and encourage the vital flow of scientific ideas.
