General Information
Petroleum and Gas Engineering deals with the fluid flow through subsurface formations, drilling, production, reservoir engineering and transportation of oil, gas, and other subsurface resources.
Azerbaijan has a very rich historical tradition of the oil industry. Today many international oil companies are operating in Baku, creating broad internship opportunities for the students and employment opportunities for the graduates of the School.
The curriculum in petroleum engineering includes sufficient training in basic engineering sciences to prepare the graduates for the application of engineering principles to the petroleum industry. Courses in geology give an understanding of the geological structures and conditions favorable for petroleum deposits.
The engineering fundamentals and computer tools with application to a broad range of engineering problems are emphasized.
